Case had established themselves in the construction machine business by the year 1912. They became a manufacturer of road building machinery including steam rollers and road graders. Case grew their construction machinery company through different acquisitions, starting with the American Tractor Corporation in the year 1957. Case had expanded their company by the mid-1990s to become the leading producer of medium-sized to light-sized construction equipment.
During the year 1999, Case merged with New Holland to become CNH Global. This company became responsible for marketing several of the globe's leading brands of construction and agricultural machinery.
