Types of Aisles
Lift trucks are classified due to the kinds of aisles they have been designed to operate in. Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are designed to turn in the aisle, while Very Narrow Aisle trucks actually don't turn within the aisle. There are certain aisle widths to consider with different units.
VNA or Very Narrow Aisle trucks operate in less than 6 feet places and usually use particular guidance systems such as wire, optical or rail systems in order to travel within the aisles. Some different models of VNA trucks consist of Order Selectors, Turret Trucks and Swing Masts. These are popular models in tight retail areas and in several warehouse and storage situations.
Narrow Aisle or NA trucks could operate within aisles which are 8 feet to 10 feet. Generally these are stand-up models such as Reach Trucks. They are usually used in storage facilities and warehouses.
Wide Aisle Standard forklifts fall into this truck category and are designed to work within aisles which are more than 11 feet wide.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard that is designed to reduce operator fatigue by absorbing vibration. The compartment for the operator is very spacious and has an 8" low step height which helps lessen overall body exhaustion by easing frequent exit and entry. The model includes polyurethane steer tires to absorb shocks and vibration caused by uneven floor in order to enable smooth traveling. For additional comfort, there is a cushioned armrest and floor mat as well as a backrest designed to help keep drivers comfortable and therefore more productive while limiting exhaustion.
