How to Charge a Scissor Lift
Lots of people value the convenience of using a scissor lift. The ease of working and the security offered from the lift's basket offer much more piece of mind than trying to complete a similar task using the rung of a ladder. The safety risks involved with this machine make it the right option for completing tasks from heights.
Most scissor lifts are operated by batteries which are internally mounted in the base of the lift. These batteries have to be charged following a long shift or due to sitting after extended periods without use. It is a simple job to charge the batteries. This could be carried out without any particular equipment or tools and requires no heavy labor.
The machine has to be positioned near an electrical output so as to prepare the scissor lift for charging. This charging area should also be in a well-ventilated place. Next, in order to prevent another operator from driving away with the lift plugged in, press the emergency shut-off switch. The emergency shut off switch is the big red button found inside the lift basket, near the charger or the control box. Find the battery charger on the right side of the base of the lift. Usually, older models would have the charger mounted on the back of the lift.
The AC extension cord must next be plugged into the charger. Be sure to charge in a well ventilated place and plug the cord into an electrical outlet. So as to prevent accidental damage from being run over, the length of the electrical cord on the battery charger is purposely short. This is because if any extra length were to drop out of the battery charger storage place while in use, extreme danger could likely occur.
