Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck normally goes by other names such as: Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie. These pieces of machinery are essentially a motorized version of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Walkie" models as well as "Rider" versions.
The walkie type as the name implies, is made to allow the operator to walk alongside the machinery as they lift and move cargo. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are ideal for frequent moving of loads over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing applications. They are really fast and maneuverable.
It is important to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and therefore, it is not recommended to transport unstable or tall loads with these machines. A rider can be the best answer if you are looking for an inexpensive method for moving loads from point A to point B. If though, you are required to move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the best alternative.
Order Selector
The order picker or order selector is a piece machine designed particularly for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the operator and the load with a purpose to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Normally, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle which can function in smaller aisles. They are extremely handy pieces of machinery during physical inventories as well as during cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more common.
