Telescopic forklifts
Telescopic lift trucks offer versatility and height. These units are outfitted with a pronged lift on an arm which extends over the top of the truck. The arm, or crane, is referred to as a telescopic boom. The boom allows the operator to lift the cargo to great heights while maintaining a high degree of control. Regular lift trucks aren't able to move the cargo towards and away from the cab of the forklift, whereas a telescopic forklift could allow that movement. The telescopic forklift is usually utilized in construction and agriculture. It is recommended for applications where greater control and lift is needed.
In situations needing high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments known as forklift carton clamp attachments are recommended. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings that allow the operator to apply uniform clamping force when picking up a load. It is available with a backrest that protects the loads from damage.
A sleep sheet forklift would usually use a slip sheet attachment for storing systems that don't use pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forks on the forklift. This kind of system is useful for intra-corporate deliveries and for overseas shipments.
A man basket is a lift platform meant specially to hoist staff. The basket attaches to the forks on the forklift, held in with a chain or strap that is to be directly secured to the forklift carriage. The platform has railings to protect the personnel from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are utilized for fastening the worker's safety harness.
