Change an LPG Cylinder
There are different kinds of sources which could power forklifts. They could run from liquid propane or LP gas, gasoline, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for many applications. There are several facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled whenever they require. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders which can be changed out when the machine needs to be refueled.
In order to avoid potentially serious injury, certain safety measures must be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. Like for instance: be certain to put on the correct safety equipment like goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Make sure that you turned off the ignition of the forklift before changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is firmly closed. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it will turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never utilize any type of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened just by using the hand.
